Facts.

90%

of your child's brain develops by age 5.

Intervention is more effective when it is provided earlier in life rather than later.

85%

of children with developmental delays don't get the support they need before age 5 because of the "wait and see" approach and 5-14-month waitlists to see a developmental behavioral specialist.

A positive score on the SWYC/M-CHAT screening tests indicates concern, not diagnosis. Screening tests are designed to catch even minor concerns to not let any child with a developmental delay fall through the cracks.

Developmental delay ≠ stigma

There is no shame in having a child with a developmental delay.

01.

Developmental delays are more common than they seem.

In the United States, 20% of kids have developmental and behavioral disorders.

It means that at least 1 in every 5 American kids has experienced a developmental delay.

02.

Every child develops differently.

If your child experiences a developmental delay, it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s something wrong.

It just means they are developing a little differently from their peers and need more support.

03.

Different isn’t bad.

Understanding and appreciating your child’s development will give you a chance to view them in a new light.

Value your child’s strengths, cherish every day, and appreciate the things that make them unique.
